About Little Spoon Supports
Small, family-owned, creative and local.
What is Little Spoon Supports?
Little Spoon Supports is a small, family-owned disability support service based in the Ipswich region.
I created Little Spoon to be a bit different — creative, practical, easy to talk to, and genuinely enjoyable to be around. We support children, young people and adults, and we keep things intentionally small so people don’t feel like they’re getting lost in a huge service.
We’re currently an unregistered NDIS provider, which means we can work with self-managed and plan-managed participants, as well as privately funded clients where appropriate.
Why I started Little Spoon
I wanted to create the kind of support service I would actually feel comfortable recommending to someone I cared about.
Something local. Something human. Something where creativity is encouraged, communication is straightforward, and support can still feel professional without feeling clinical.
That’s really where Little Spoon came from.
Hi, I’m Steph — the Founder of Little Spoon Supports.
I’m Stephany-Mae Lockwood, the Founder and Service Director of Little Spoon Supports.
I’m an Aboriginal and neurodivergent woman with a background in psychology, behaviour support and disability services.
My experience has included working as a Behaviour Support Practitioner, developing behaviour support plans and practical resources, training support teams, working alongside families, and helping people build strategies around communication, regulation, daily life and independence.
I really love the creative side of this work — finding practical ways to make things easier, clearer or more enjoyable for the person being supported.
My husband, Codie, supports me behind the scenes with Little Spoon too. He helps with the practical side of the business and is a big part of helping me bring the ideas to life.
Little Spoon, in a nutshell
And hopefully the kind of support service that feels a little easier to deal with.
